Tasniem Anwar is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Department of Criminology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds a dual appointment in the Empirical and Normative Studies division. Her research focuses on counter-terrorism law, security technology, and post-colonial legal frameworks. Anwar earned her PhD (2017-2022) on terrorism financing investigation and prosecution. She currently leads the FUTURESEC research project (2024-Present) and contributes to the 'Courtroom as a Landscape' initiative (2022-Present).
