Prof. Dr. Tarkan Tan is a Full Professor of Sustainable Operations Management at the University of Zurich's Department of Business Administration since 2022. Previously, he held roles at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and taught at TIAS Business School's Executive Master program. He earned his Ph.D. from Middle East Technical University, with postdoctoral research at Columbia University (Fulbright Scholar), UCLA, and the University of Sydney. His research focuses on inventory theory, supply chain sustainability, spare parts management, and capacity management. He has led the OML MSc program at TU/e and served on the European Supply Chain Forum's executive board. Prof. Tan has published extensively in top journals like Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and co-edited a textbook on sustainable supply chains.
