Dr Tariq Mahmood serves as an Honorary Lecturer at Keele University's School of Law and a Visiting Professor at Durham University, combining academic instruction with active practice as a litigation barrister specializing in international commercial dispute resolution across London, Asia, and the Middle-East. He recently founded the arbitration boutique law firm 'Med-Arb-International' after years in self-employed and employed barrister roles.
His research and professional expertise spans international arbitration systems, commercial litigation, construction disputes, insolvency proceedings, trust conflicts, insurance/reinsurance cases, and niche areas including sports and energy sector disputes. He actively publishes and lectures on arbitration methodologies, mediation frameworks, and diversity initiatives within the global legal profession.
As a qualified arbitrator appointed for Sole and Party-Appointed roles under major international rules, he also trains practitioners through the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators' Approved Faculty List, delivering courses on domestic/international arbitration and mediation techniques.
