Tarif Bakdash is a Professor of Neurology and Chief of the Division of Child Neurology at the University of Kentucky's Kentucky Neuroscience Institute. He holds an MD from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine, an MHSc in Bioethics from the University of Toronto, and an MEHP from Johns Hopkins University. His training includes residencies in Pediatrics at Henry Ford Hospital and Pediatric Neuropsychology at Baylor College of Medicine, as well as fellowships in Pediatric Sleep Medicine (Harvard), Epilepsy & Clinical Neurophysiology (Cleveland Clinic and Harvard), Movement Disorders (Rush University), and Child Neurology (Baylor College of Medicine).
He is board-certified in Clinical Neurophysiology, Child Neurology, and Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. Additional training includes an Oxford Executive Leadership Programme and courses in Creativity and Design Thinking from the University of Cambridge. His clinical focus spans pediatric neurological disorders, with expertise in epilepsy, sleep medicine, neurophysiology, and movement disorders. He leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to compassionate care for children and their families.
