Tanzeel Rehman

Tanzeel Rehman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University's College of Engineering. His work focuses on integrating artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics into agricultural systems to enhance precision and sustainability.

• Education: Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University, M.S. in Agriculture from Dalhousie University (Canada), and B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Research interests center on AI-driven agricultural automation, including:

• Computer Vision for crop monitoring
• Robotic systems in precision horticulture
• Hyperspectral imaging for plant phenotyping
• Time-series modeling in controlled environment agriculture

He leads the Agricultural Smart System Lab, which develops technologies like Florabot, an AI robot for ornamental plant assessment, and works on domain adaptation methods for hyperspectral data across phenotyping systems.
