Dr. Tanni Chaudhuri is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Rhode Island College since Fall 2013. She previously taught in Texas for five years and holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas Women’s University (2011). Her work spans criminology, medical sociology, and media studies, with a focus on HIV contagion in India and socio-economic determinants of health in Rhode Island.
- Research Interests: Criminology, Medical Sociology, Research Methods, Media Studies.
- Current Projects: Socio-economic determinants of health among children in Rhode Island; theoretical interpretation of U.S. sex offender legislation.
