Tania Panayiotou

Tania Panayiotou is a Senior Research Associate at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, affiliated with the University of Cyprus. Her career spans multiple institutions, including Cyprus University of Technology, Open University of Cyprus, Neapolis University of Pafos, and American University of Beirut-Mediterraneo, where she held research and adjunct academic roles.

• Education: Diploma in Computer Engineering, University of Patras (2005); Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus (2013).

Her research centers on optical networks and transportation systems, with a focus on applying machine learning to network protection/restoration, fault localization, traffic engineering, and resource allocation. She also explores electric vehicle charging management within smart transportation frameworks.

Key contributions include over 50 peer-reviewed publications and leadership in prestigious research initiatives. Awards highlight her excellence, including a Best Paper Award at the ONDM’17 conference and multiple best paper nominations at RNDM’19 and MedComNet22’.
