Tania Gentic

Tania Gentic is an Associate Professor at Georgetown University's Department of Spanish and Portuguese, with core faculty membership in the Comparative Literature Program. Her research focuses on Ibero-Atlantic cultural production, examining identity formation through media, philosophy, and literature across Catalonia, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Her major works include The Everyday Atlantic (2013), analyzing newspaper chronicles and digital media, and an upcoming book on sound studies in Barcelona (2025). She co-edited volumes on Latin American digital culture and transatlantic imperialism.

Teaching specialties include critical theory, comparative literature, sound studies, and 19th-21st century Peninsular/Latin American literature. Her research bridges media studies, cultural geography, and postcolonial theory.
