Tammy Brown

Tammy L. Brown is Associate Professor of History and African Diaspora Studies at Howard University, examining Caribbean intellectual history through biographical methods.

Education:

• PhD in History, Princeton University (2007)
• BA in History, Harvard University (1998)

Her research connects cultural production, migration patterns, and racial justice movements. Current projects analyze spiritual dimensions of popular music and visual culture representations of identity.
