Tamecia R. Jones

Dr. Tamecia R. Jones is an Assistant Professor of STEM Education at North Carolina State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Purdue University, a M.Div. from Boston University, a M.A. in Learning, Design, and Technology from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Her research focuses on K12 engineering education assessment, participatory design, and integrating civics with engineering through projects like NSF-funded DUE and Department of Education’s Project RISE. She is a 2024 CAREER Awardee developing equitable assessment tools with youth. Dr. Jones teaches courses in engineering education pedagogy and research methods, and her work includes software development for educational technologies. She previously taught middle school STEM and developed informal STEM programs nationwide.
