Tali Gidalevitz

Dr. Tali Gidalevitz is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Graduate Biology Program at Drexel University. Her research investigates proteostasis failure in protein misfolding diseases like Alzheimer's and ALS, using C. elegans and mammalian models to understand cellular stress responses.

Research directions include:

• Neuronal susceptibility mechanisms to misfolded proteins

• ER proteostasis regulation during physiological stress

The lab examines how misfolded proteins disrupt cellular functions by corrupting 'bystander' proteins, and how natural genetic variation influences aggregation resistance.
