Taka Tachibe

Taka Tachibe is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California. He holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from UC Berkeley. His professional practice focuses on adaptive reuse projects, currently at Breland-Harper in Los Angeles. Prior to USC, he worked at Katsuhiro Miyamoto & Associates and FreelandBuck.

Research interests include architectural design, urbanism, and sustainable strategies for built environments. His academic work has been published in Pidgin (Princeton University School of Architecture) and featured in the Race & Podcast, with exhibitions at the Lewis Center for the Arts.

Recipient of the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize for his graduate thesis, his contributions bridge academic research with practical architectural solutions. Active in both teaching and professional practice, he integrates pedagogical innovation with contemporary design challenges.
