Taavo Remmel is a Senior Lecturer in Jazz Music at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT), specializing in double bass performance and improvisation. He has been a lecturer at the Jazz Department of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music since 2011, and joined EAMT’s Department of Composition, Improvisation and Contemporary Performing Arts in 2019. A prominent figure in Estonian jazz, he performs with ensembles like Hortus Musicus and Eesti Kontsert, and has contributed to over 15 audio recordings in the past decade.
