TAN Kar Tong

Asst Prof TAN Kar Tong is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore. His research focuses on computational genomics and bioinformatics, leveraging large-scale genome mining to address critical biological questions in cancer, RNA-based therapeutics, and aging-related diseases.

1. Discovery of missing somatic alterations in cancer's repetitive genomic regions using long-read sequencing and novel computational methods.
2. Development of RNA-based therapeutics via large-scale genome mining of RNA elements.
3. Investigating somatic mutations' roles in age-related diseases beyond cancer through advanced computational approaches.
