T. Barton Carter is a Professor of Media Science at Boston University, specializing in communication law and new communication technologies. He formerly held leadership roles as head of the Law Division at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the Law and Policy Division at the Broadcast Education Association. He retired from legal practice but continues academic work.
