Synthia Guimond

Synthia Guimond is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, and holds adjunct appointments in the Department of Psychology, University of Ottawa and the Department of Neuroscience, Carleton University. She specializes in neuroscience, mental health, and rehabilitation research.

Research Interests span neurosciences, mental health and addiction, rehabilitation, and cognitive neuroscience. Her work focuses on plasticity and neuronal regeneration, mood disorders, schizophrenia, neural circuits, and neuroimaging. A significant portion of her research addresses circulatory and respiratory health and learning and memory mechanisms.
