Sylvie De Raedt

Sylvie De Raedt is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurology at Universiteit Brussel. She specializes in neuroprotection, neuromodulation, and clinical neuroscience, with a focus on stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, and post-stroke delirium. She leads the Neuroprotection & Neuromodulation research group and co-leads the IOF GEAR project (2022–2026), advancing AI integration in neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry.

Her research spans stroke prevention, thrombectomy complications, and AI-driven personalized care. She has published extensively, with recent work in Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine, European Heart Journal, and New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. De Raedt was awarded the 2021 WFWG Prize for her work on post-stroke delirium.

Dr. De Raedt advises multiple students and collaborates internationally. She actively participates in conferences like ESNCH 2024 and serves on PhD committees. Her lab focuses on translational research bridging clinical neurology, AI, and patient outcomes.
