Sylvia Villios

Dr Sylvia Villios is an Associate Professor at the Adelaide Law School, University of Adelaide, and serves as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (ADOGS) for the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law, and Economics, overseeing over 400 Higher Degree by Research students. She is Co-Director of the Regulation of Commercial, Corporations, Insolvency, and Taxation research unit. Her expertise spans taxation law, corporate taxation, and succession law, with over 40 peer-reviewed articles and major government reports. She actively engages with professional organizations, including the South Australian Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Research interests include the Australian tax system, taxation policy, and the role of the Commissioner of Taxation. Her work combines academic rigor with practical application, informed by six years in legal practice advising on taxation and commercial matters. She teaches courses in taxation and succession law, integrating research-led pedagogy and experiential learning.
