Syed Mohammad Ali is a Professorial Lecturer of Anthropology, currently serving as a Non-Resident Scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington D.C. His expertise spans international development, South Asian studies, and research methodologies. He provides country-of-origin expert testimonies for South Asian asylum seekers and contributes weekly op-eds to the Express Tribune, Pakistan’s affiliate of the New York Times.
