Syed Hussain is a Lecturer in Undergraduate Business at the University of Sunderland in London, where he teaches courses such as BA (Hons) Business (Top-Up), BA (Hons) Business and Management, and BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship (Top-Up). Prior to academia, he worked as a Finance Manager at ZTE Telecom Company (South Asia office) and as a Field Coordinator with UNICEF in Pakistan. His research focuses on sustainability reporting, corporate governance in developing countries, and wealth creation through business and entrepreneurship across cultures, including the role of stakeholders and agencies in promoting sustainable practices. Syed is also interested in marketing management, human resource management, and corporate social responsibility in the context of ex-offender rehabilitation and prison education systems.

His educational qualifications include an MBA (Finance) from the University of Wales, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the London School of Marketing, an LLM (Masters in Law) from Buckinghamshire New University, an MA in Marketing and Innovation from Anglia Ruskin University, and an MBA (Marketing) from Gomal University, Pakistan. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Accounting at the University of Southampton. Syed holds professional recognitions such as part-qualified ACCA status, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Member of the Certified Management Institute (CMI), and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Business Management and Education (CBME). He was nominated as a 2022 SNTA Most Inspirational Member of University Staff.
As a Dissertation Supervisor for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) course, Syed supports students in their academic and professional development. He is committed to integrating theoretical and practical knowledge in his teaching, with a focus on entrepreneurship, business operations, and modern business developments.
