Dr. Sydney Pullen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Mississippi State University. As a cultural and historical anthropologist, her work critically examines the intersections of racial capitalism, education, labor, and development. She has conducted fieldwork in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands, Cuba, and the U.S. South, with recent projects focusing on industrial schools for African American students and their contemporary impacts on rural workforce programs in South Carolina.
