Professor Svetan Ratchev serves as Cripps Professor of Production Engineering and Founding Director of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Nottingham, recognized internationally for expertise in advanced manufacturing systems and industrial automation solutions.
His research drives innovation in digital manufacturing, factory integration, and assembly automation, with emphasis on sustainable production of low-volume high-complexity aerospace and defense components through initiatives like the EPSRC Made Smarter Research Centre for Connected Factories.
Awarded Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng) in 2025, his contributions exemplify leadership in engineering research and industrial collaboration.
