Sven Wießner

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sven Wießner serves as Head of the Elastomers Department at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, part of the Engineering Science of Polymer Materials division. His research focuses on polymer science with specialization in elastomer technology and rubber materials.

His work encompasses material characterization, polymer physics, and engineering applications of elastomeric materials. The Elastomers Department operates within a comprehensive polymer research ecosystem that includes departments focused on nanostructured materials, polymer interfaces, functional colloidal materials, and multi-scale characterization.

As department head, Prof. Wießner leads research initiatives related to the development, testing, and application of elastomeric materials for various industrial and scientific purposes.
