Suzanne Wilson

Suzanne Wilson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Gustavus Adolphus College. She is affiliated with interdisciplinary programs including Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LALACS), Peace Studies, Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies, and Public Health.

• Education: Ph.D. in Sociology with a graduate minor in Latin American Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Research Interests: Dr. Wilson specializes in the intersection of U.S. drug policy and global drug trafficking dynamics, particularly focusing on third-generation drug organizations in Colombia. Her work explores the sociological impacts of organized crime, violence, and social inequality. She also contributes to research methods and globalization studies.

Teaching: Dr. Wilson has taught courses such as Social Inequality, Criminology, Drugs & Society, Globalization, and Kinship, Marriage, and Human Sexuality for over two decades. She has occasionally led Career Exploration workshops.
