Suzanne Rivard is a Full Professor at HEC Montréal since 1978 and holder of the Chair in Strategic Management of Information Technology. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (2005) and recipient of the 2017 Grand Prize for excellence in research, she specializes in IT strategy, risk management, and outsourcing dynamics. Her work explores institutional frameworks in IS development, organizational agility through IT, and user resistance during digital transformations.
Her research interests focus on theorizing emerging technologies, dynamic capabilities in IT governance, and the interplay between organizational identity and IT implementation. Notable contributions include models for IT outsourcing success, risk management frameworks, and analyses of post-merger IS integration challenges. Her honorary PhD from Aix-Marseille Université (2016) underscores her international academic influence.
