Dr. Suzanne M. Shontz is Professor at the University of Kansas with joint appointments in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. She serves as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs in the School of Engineering and Director of the Mathematical Methods in Interdisciplinary Computing Center. Her research focuses on parallel scientific computing, particularly developing algorithms for unstructured meshing and numerical optimization applied to computational medicine, materials science, and engineering.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University and B.S./B.A. from University of Northern Iowa. Research explores:
- High-order mesh generation
- Dynamic mesh optimization
- Parallel computing architectures
- Biomedical simulations
