Suzanne Keep is an Associate Professor and Site Director of the Pre-Licensure Program at the McAuley School of Nursing, University of Detroit Mercy. She holds a PhD in Nursing from Rutgers University, an MS in Nursing from Wayne State University, and a BS in Nursing from Nazareth College. Her career includes roles at the University of Michigan (1988-1993), Saginaw Valley State University (1996-2005), and as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan-Flint (2005). She became tenured at Detroit Mercy in 2014, advancing to associate professor in 2017.
Her research focuses on community health, including physical activity among Latina women and children, nursing student distress, and foot care for vulnerable populations like migrant workers. She actively participates in organizations such as the Michigan Public Health Association, American Nurses Association-Michigan (as President-Elect), and the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators.
Dr. Keep leads the B.S.N. pre-licensure program at Aquinas College and emphasizes nursing education innovation. Her professional service and clinical experience span hospital, community, and academic settings. Beyond academia, she values family time with her spouse Paul, three children, and four grandchildren.
