Sushruth Ravish is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), where he has been serving since February 2022. Prior to joining IIT Kanpur, he was an Assistant Professor at OP Jindal Global University (2021-22) and an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow at IIT Bombay (2021).
Dr. Ravish holds a PhD from IIT Bombay with a thesis titled "Naturalizing Moral Epistemology: A Methodological Investigation." His educational background also includes an MA in Philosophy from SP Pune University, where he received the SS Barlingay Prize and Kumari Anagha Dattatray Prize for obtaining the highest marks, and a BE from The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore.
His research focuses on moral epistemology, metaethics, normative ethics, social epistemology, and political philosophy. Dr. Ravish's work explores the complex relationship between moral knowledge and epistemic justification, with particular attention to social dimensions of moral reasoning. His methodological approach often bridges traditional philosophical inquiry with contemporary social and political concerns.
Dr. Ravish has presented his research at numerous international conferences including the MANCEPT Workshops in Political Theory at the University of Manchester, the Value Conference at the University of Sheffield, and the European Congress of Analytic Philosophy at Utrecht University. His publications appear in reputable philosophy journals such as Philosophia, South African Journal of Philosophy, and Kriterion Journal of Philosophy.
