About
Susanne Kossatz is an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), heading the research group 'Imaging and Biomarkers in Oncology' within the Department of Nuclear Medicine. Her work focuses on developing molecular imaging tools for tumor detection, treatment monitoring, and improving patient outcomes through PARP inhibitor-based imaging and theranostics.
Education and Career: Dr. Kossatz earned her PhD in Molecular Imaging from Friedrich Schiller University Jena in 2013. She completed postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, where she researched PARP inhibitor translation. In 2019, she joined TUM as a Rudolf Mößbauer Tenure Track Professor.
Research Interests: Her lab develops fluorescent and radiolabeled probes for oncology applications, including PARP1-targeted imaging for brain tumors, oral/esophageal cancer detection, and radiotheranostic strategies. Key projects include clinical translation of PARP1-based PET imaging and αvβ6 integrin-targeted radioligands.
- Selected Awards: SNMMI '30 under 35' (2019), K99/R00 Award (2018), CMIIT Young Investigator Award (2015)
- Labs/Teams: Leads the 'Imaging and Biomarkers in Oncology' group at TUM-IAS.
