Susannah Colbert

Dr Susannah Colbert serves as a Senior Lecturer (Research) and Clinical and Academic Tutor at Canterbury Christ Church University's Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology, having joined the institution in 2021 after training and graduating from Salomons in 2010.

Her clinical expertise centers on psychosis treatment within NHS settings including Assertive Outreach Teams, crisis houses, and Promoting Recovery Teams, with specialized focus on applying EMDR to address trauma underlying psychotic experiences. Her research actively builds the evidence base for EMDR in psychosis treatment through rigorous academic investigation.

Dr Colbert's significant professional recognitions include:

• EMDR Accredited Practitioner status (achieved September 2019)
• Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (awarded following University Certificate in Academic Practice)

Based at the Lucy Fildes Building in Tunbridge Wells, she integrates clinical practice with academic research while progressing toward EMDR consultant certification, driving innovation in trauma-informed psychosis interventions through the Salomons Institute research team.
