Susan Slyomovics

Professor Susan Slyomovics is affiliated with the University of California, Los Angeles, where she holds a joint appointment in Anthropology and Near Eastern Languages & Cultures. Her work bridges cultural anthropology, memory studies, and human rights, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa.

She is a leading scholar in cultural memory, particularly in post-conflict contexts such as Morocco and Palestine. Her research explores intersections of gender, reparations, and ethnographic art, alongside editorial contributions to intercultural discourse and translation studies.
