Susan Richman, MD, MPH, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, and Section Chief of Family Planning. She holds additional titles including Assistant Professor and Associate Clinical Professor (Voluntary Track in Ob/Gyn). Her clinical focus includes gynecologic issues such as family planning, menopause, sexuality, and pain syndromes in women. Dr. Richman received her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1979) and an MPH in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale (2007). She is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology since 1985.
Her research interests span contraceptive mechanisms, geriatric gynecology, and ethical patient care. Notable publications include studies on endometrial HOXA10 expression, gynecologic care for elderly women, and breastfeeding-related vasomotor episodes. Dr. Richman was recognized as a 'Best Doctor' by CT magazine in 2019. She actively participates in clinical trials for non-hormonal contraceptives and advocates for informed consent practices in vulnerable populations.
