Susan Ortiz

Dr. Susan Ortiz is a Professor of Sociology at Warren Wilson College, where she emphasizes the importance of both academics and intellectual virtues in building a more equitable society. She holds a B.S. in Education from New Mexico State University, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from The Ohio State University.

Her research focuses on Social Stratification and Inequality, Intersectionality, and Privilege and Power. She teaches courses such as Women of Color and Feminism, Critical Race Theory, and Difference and Inequality, aiming to empower students to apply sociological perspectives to real-world challenges.
