Susan Nehzati

Susan Nehzati is a Beamline Scientist at Diamond Light Source in the United Kingdom and a LINXS Fellow, serving as Heritage Science Core Group member and leader of Working Group 3: Advancing Analysis.

Her research specializes in biogeochemistry, utilizing synchrotron X-ray characterization to investigate how environmental factors influence living and non-living materials across timescales from present to deep geological history. This interdisciplinary work bridges molecular analysis, environmental science, and heritage conservation to understand material-environment interactions at fundamental levels.

As WG3 leader at LINXS, she drives collaborative advancements in analytical methodologies for heritage science applications, focusing on technical innovation in synchrotron-based characterization of complex natural samples.
