Susan MacWilliam

Susan MacWilliam is a Lecturer in Fine Art - Painting at the National College of Art and Design. Her artistic practice spans experimental media, video, and installation, with extensive international exhibitions including representation at the 53rd Venice Biennale. She has held solo exhibitions at institutions such as Conner Contemporary (Washington DC), Golden Thread Gallery (Belfast), and Temple Bar Gallery (Dublin). Her research explores perception and optical phenomena through historical investigations of parapsychology.

Her work has been screened at film festivals globally, including IndieCork Film Festival, Portobello Film Festival, and CINESONIKA, often focusing on themes of illusion and perception. Permanent installations include collaborative works like 'Lyrical Light' in Florida and 'Cycles' in Ireland's Lough Boora Parklands.
