Susan M. Miller

Susan M. Miller is a Clinical Professor and Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital, holding the John S. Dunn Sr. Research Chair in General Internal Medicine. She serves as Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Houston Methodist Research Institute's Institute of Academic Medicine and directs the Chao Program for International Research Ethics while chairing the Institutional Review Board.

Her research specializes in research ethics frameworks, disaster preparedness for research infrastructure, and regulatory compliance systems. She develops educational programs addressing institutional continuity during crises and IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) training protocols, emphasizing ethical oversight in global biomedical contexts.
