Susan Edwards

Prof. Susan Edwards is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Buckingham and former Dean of Law. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Manchester and has been a Professor since 2003. Her academic roles include membership in the Bar Human Rights Committee and the Board of the International Society of Criminology. She specializes in Family Law, Sex and Gender in Legal Processes, and Criminology. Her research focuses on domestic abuse, international human rights, and gender dynamics in legal systems. Edwards has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and multiple books, including Female Sexuality and the Law and Policing Domestic Violence. She has advised international bodies like the Council of Europe on domestic violence policies and frequently contributes to media discussions on legal issues affecting women.
