About
Susan E. Quaggin is a Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She serves as Chief of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine and directs the Feinberg Cardiovascular and Renal Research Institute. Her research focuses on vascular tyrosine kinase signaling in blood and lymphatic vasculature development and diseases.
- MD from the University of Toronto (1988)
Research Interests
Her laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms of diabetic vascular complications, thrombotic microangiopathy, glomerular diseases, and glaucoma. The lab employs mouse genetic, cell biologic, and proteomic approaches to study the roles of Angiopoietin-Tie2 and vascular endothelial growth factor signaling pathways in these diseases. Current projects include developing novel therapeutic agents targeting these pathways.
Labs & Teams
The Quaggin lab combines expertise in vascular biology and renal research to uncover disease mechanisms and translate findings into potential therapies.
