Susan C. J. Sumner is a Professor of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Gillings School of Global Public Health. She serves as Director of the Metabolomics and Exposome Laboratory (MEL) at UNC Chapel Hill and leads research initiatives in precision nutrition and personalized medicine.
Her research spans maternal and child health, diabetes, toxicology, cancer, microbiome, and addiction, with a focus on using untargeted metabolomics/exposome technologies to identify biomarkers for disease detection and intervention strategies.
