Dr. Susan Berridge is a Senior Lecturer in Communications, Media and Culture at the University of Stirling, UK. She joined the university in 2015 after roles at the Universities of Leeds, Glasgow, and Royal Holloway. She holds a PhD in Television Studies from the University of Glasgow (2010), focusing on representations of teenage sexuality and violence in UK/US teen dramas.

Her research explores gender inequalities in media industries, screen representations of gender, sexuality, age, and feminist theory. Current projects include studies on intimacy coordination in UK television (British Academy-funded) and Creative Stirling’s pandemic response networks (Royal Society of Edinburgh-funded). She previously co-edited sections of Feminist Media Studies.
Her teaching covers television narrative, emotion in media, and feminist film/TV theory. She supervises PhD students on topics like teen genres and gender in media industries.
