Susan Barnet

Dr. Susan Barnet is the Course Leader for Fine Art at the University of Suffolk, School of Technology, Business and Arts. Her work spans multiple media, including drawing, performance, and installation, focusing on personal histories within broader political discourses. She holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a PhD from Kingston University.

Teaching responsibilities include Studio Practice, Extended Practice, Research and Context, and Critical Perspectives. Her research collaborations include radical reThink, a cross-college initiative at UAL that challenges market-driven education models through international symposia and community-building.

Key projects include reinterpreting the Mass Observation movement through archives and performance, resulting in exhibitions at Five Years (London) and publications like The Everyday Press. Her work explores overlooked aspects of daily life, blending art, text, and social critique.
