He is also a Research Fellow at VIDO-InterVac. His academic credentials include a DVM, MVSc from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, India, and a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan.
Dr. Tikoo's research focuses on molecular biology of non-human adenoviruses (e.g., bovine adenovirus-3), adenovirus protein interactions, mitochondrial effects during viral replication, and the development of viral vectors for vaccines. His work spans veterinary infectious diseases, immune response modulation, and vaccine strategies for livestock and poultry.
His publications highlight advancements in viral vector design, CpG-ODN immunotherapy, and understanding pathogen mechanisms in broiler chickens. He collaborates on vaccines targeting diseases like necrotic enteritis, infectious bursal disease, and peste des petits ruminants. His contributions also include investigations into avian reovirus evolution and metabolic biomarkers for bacterial infections.
