Assistant Professor · Prognostic modeling for material aging
California State University, Long BeachAbout
Surajit Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where he has worked since Spring 2017. His research focuses on structural health monitoring, prognostic modeling, and non-destructive testing techniques. He obtained his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 2014, where he studied structural damage detection using piezoelectric transducers under varying environmental conditions.
Prior to joining CSULB, he served as a postdoctoral research associate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), developing Bayesian-based prognostic algorithms for estimating remaining useful life of structural components and simulating ultrasonic wave propagation for fluid-structure interaction analysis.
He is affiliated with the College of Engineering at CSULB and can be reached at surajit.roy@csulb.edu. His office is located in ECS-646.
