Supanki Kalanadan is a part-time Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa. She holds an LLM in International Humanitarian and Security Law from the University of Ottawa, an LLB from the University of Essex (UK), a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Toronto, and a BA in Political Science and English from the University of Toronto.
Her research interests focus on International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law, and Refugee Law, with a particular emphasis on human rights, legal reform, and global accountability mechanisms. Her work spans topics such as transitional justice in post-conflict regions and the ethical implications of refugee law in international contexts.
Kalanadan's recent publications include a 2020 article on Sri Lanka's accountability challenges in the Journal of International Criminal Justice and a 2023 book chapter analyzing refoulement in domestic and international refugee law. Her work reflects interdisciplinary engagement with legal theory, human rights advocacy, and policy analysis.
