Sunyoung Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Illinois Chicago. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D) and licensed behavior analyst in Illinois, specializing in early childhood special education and evidence-based interventions for children with autism and developmental disabilities.

Her research focuses on (1) social behavior interventions for students with autism, and (2) qualitative investigations of social validity in evidence-based practices for young children with disabilities and their families. She currently leads three OSEP-funded projects as Principal Investigator: Project CHIME (OSEP 325K-A), Project Flying Kite (OSEP 325X), and Project ABC (OSEP 325R).
