Sungyoung Shin is a Senior Research Fellow at the South Australian Immunogenomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI), part of the University of Adelaide’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Previously, he held roles at Monash University (2015–2025), University College Dublin (2013–2015 as a Marie Curie Fellow), and KAIST (2009–2013 as Assistant Research Professor). His academic journey began at the University of Ulsan, South Korea, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Electronics (2000), Master’s in Control Engineering (2002), and PhD in Systems Biology (2007).
His research focuses on systems biology, computational modeling, and their applications in biomedical science. He is actively involved in supervising postgraduate students and contributes to interdisciplinary research at SAiGENCI.
