Sumon Bhaumik

Sumon Bhaumik is an Honorary Professor at the Sheffield University Management School, previously holding a Chair in Finance and serving as Head of the Accounting & Financial Management department. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California. His research focuses on corporate governance, banking systems, and international business, with publications in top journals like Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Banking & Finance. He has led major grants funded by UKIERI, ESRC, and DfID, exploring financial reforms and corporate governance in emerging markets. Professional roles include editorial board memberships for Journal of World Business and British Journal of Management, and representation on the Trade and Sustainable Development Domestic Advisory Group. His teaching includes modules on Risk Management, Emerging Markets Finance, and Global Managerial Economics, with consistently high student satisfaction scores.

Research interests span ownership structures, multinational enterprises, and the political economy of policy-making.
