Sulemana Fuseini

Dr. Sulemana Fuseini serves as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina since July 2025, following sessional teaching roles at Memorial University of Newfoundland and University of Windsor.

Dr. Fuseini's research confronts systemic tensions in social work practice through critical and decolonial frameworks. His work centers on child welfare ethics, Muslim immigrant/refugee experiences, and spirituality's role in professional well-being, challenging dominant structures while developing community-informed practice models. With 15+ years of frontline experience across urban and Indigenous communities in Ontario and Labrador, his scholarship bridges theory with the complex realities of practitioners navigating institutional constraints.
