Sukyoung Lee

Sukyoung Lee is a Professor of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at Penn State University, specializing in the general circulation of the atmosphere and ocean. Her research spans midlatitude storm tracks, westerly jets, Hadley circulation, and polar amplification of surface temperature, alongside ocean overturning circulations and planetary atmospheric studies.

Her work integrates theoretical climate dynamics with practical applications, including studies on geostrophic turbulence and paleoclimate systems. She has contributed to understanding climate change through general circulation theories.
