Sujitha Kunalan

Dr Sujitha Kunalan is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the School of Engineering and Materials Science, Queen Mary University of London, specializing in orthobiologic biomaterials. She works under the supervision of Prof Karin Hing, focusing on bioactive, bioresorbable composites loaded with autologous cells to address rejection issues in implantation. Her current work involves establishing 3D dynamic cultures to validate tissue-in-a-tube models for evaluating these composites.

Her research builds on PhD work where she developed polymer-ceramic composites for musculoskeletal therapies, demonstrating tunable mechanical properties and utility for region-specific implants via 3D printing.
